Selkirk Sit Down w/ Len Zickler

September 8, 2019 by Rob

I was excited to get to sit down with Len Zickler, a Realtor with RE/MAX and a Landscape Architect. A little back story, throughout my career informing, coaching, and educating has been important to me. Now as a general contractor I love being able to explain the “Why” as we’re developing plans, but growing into offering home inspections I knew creating social content that was informative was critical. First, because the volume of clients I can serve in home inspections is obviously much higher than homes I can renovate, it would be much more efficient to create informational videos than having the same 6 to 12 conversations over and over, and most importantly I could draw on other expert voices.

I was fortunate to connect with Len, because as a landscape architect he has embraced sustainable design practices, many of which are relevant to home owners, and something I am personally passionate about.

You can watch our full conversation above. He has so much knowledge I kind of went all over the map with my questioning, so we may have to schedule another sit down where we I can have a little more of a structured plan on how to approach sustainability as a home owner, or what to look for as a home buyer. Len did share a resource, 10 things you can do for site sustainability (image below) which you can feel free to download.

If any of the features listed above are on your property, or you’re taking on projects to make your home more sustainable be sure to tag @selkirk_country on social media, we’d love to share as inspiration for others!

Also if you are looking to list or purchase a home and sustainability is important to you be sure to connect with Len, he is an incredible resource!
